Moshe was Head of the Transport Research Unit and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Human Environment at Tel Aviv University. Before taking up that role he was Senior Researcher at the Transport Studies Unit from 2007 to 2011. In that period he played a major role in the rebuilding of the TSU under Professor David Banister. At the TSU Moshe led multiple research projects on a variety of topics such as low carbon mobilities, the visioning of walking and cycling friendly cities, and the relationship between high-speed rail and air transport. He supported and mentored various early career researchers and a DPhil student. Moshe also became Associate Editor of the journal Transport Reviews, a role he continued at Tel Aviv.
Moshe was not only an excellent transport scholar but a wonderful colleague whose dedication, persistence and gentle demeanour was highly regarded by everybody who worked with him. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to his wife Helena and three children, and their wider families in Israel and Finland.
