The EPSRC funded Maximising Home Delivery project aims to maximize the environmental benefits of home delivery, have a big impact on improving city logistics and maximize the commercial and CSR benefits to participating companies. The project is led out of Cambridge under the umbrella of the Centre for Sustainable Road Freight and runs for 18 months (June '16 - April '18). Other partners include Heriot Watt University, Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Tesco. The TSU is leading on consumer research to gain insight into the best ways to maximize public take-up of existing and new home delivery options. The vision is to develop the project into a town-scale trial involving 3+ Supermarkets, Local Councils and Logistics Service Providers.
