After the course, I feel very determined to continue contributing to my community by creating urban health and well-being solutions, public policies with a solid research base, and collaboration networks.

Health and wellbeing participant feedback.

This year’s last Global Challenges in Transport course focused on health and wellbeing, and it was a great success. It is always satisfying when we hear from both lecturers and participants how much they’ve enjoyed the course and how important they think this platform is to share knowledges of different contexts, regions of the world, and professional practices. Our lectures and live discussions have highlighted how creating healthier urban environments is both essential and challenging, and how the transport sector can contribute to this goal.

We now turn our attention to 2025 that will begin with our course: Smart Mobilities. This course, previously named “Smart Technology” is now shifting its attention to discussions on mobilities and how different innovations can affect them, and not just a conversation of recent technological developments. We will be discussing the role of automation, electrification, and platform use in new mobilities, as well as how these integrate into Mobility as a Service schemes and how they all affect the governances of transport around the world.
