About

Festival Godwin Boateng is a Senior Researcher in Mobility Governance with an interest in the everyday mobilities of people, goods and information within and between cities. His research is particularly focused on the historical, cultural and institutional political economy dimensions of mobility in cities in the Global South. He is one of the editors of Nature: Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, formerly Palgrave Communications.

Festival obtained his PhD from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Melbourne-Australia. He also holds degrees from Roskilde University, Copenhagen-Denmark and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi-Ghana. Before joining TSU, Festival was a postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Climate School of Columbia University, and an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Urban Policy and Planning, Hunter College, New York. 

Festival is a Board Member of the  Consortium for Sustainable Urbanization, a DANIDA Fellow, and an Affiliate Scholar at the Center for Sustainable Urban Development (CSUD) of Columbia University Climate School, New York.
